There are two airports in Berlin TXL and SXF, know which one you are arriving at.

TXL, Berlin Tegel Airport is the primary airport and is well connected by public transport to the city.

SXF, Berlin Schönefeld Airport, is the secondary airport and is 18 km from the city.

Car Sharing Alternatives:






TXL: No trains connect to TXL, so you’ll need to take a bus or taxi

SXF: The S-Bahn is a 10-min walk from the airport

Follow the signs

From SXF you can use the S-Bahn to get into the city and then transfer lines to get where you’re going


Use Uber to hail a taxi if you don’t want to deal with cash exchange

It will run on the meter, so it will be the same price if you don’t use the app

TXL: Pick up at Terminal A, C & E

Cost: About 25-30 EU downtown

SXF: Pick up at Terminal A

Cost: About 40-45 EU

Customary Tip: 5-10%


TXL Express: Stops outside of Terminal A & B to Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main train station) & Alexanderplatz and takes about 37 minutes

X9 Express travels the west side of Berlin. Connect to S + U Bahn stations without going into the city center

Costs: About 3 EU
